Pro-Glas was recently involved in an exiting project using cutting edge technology to develop a concept vehicle for a major American retailer. The autonomous vehicle will be used as a delivery system for products that are ordered online. Using data files provided by the customer, Pro-Glas worked closely with a design team to create a prototype.
The data files were used to program a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) tool which cut a full-size foam pattern. The three dimensional pattern was then used to build the molds used in the manufacture of fiberglass “pods” which form a delivery train.
Our Fabrication Process
Please watch the video that shows the process from concept to final product. The video begins with the design data for the autonomous vehicle then shows the foam part produced by the CNC. The pattern was then prepped and primed before the final fiberglass pieces were manufactured.
